Don’t let the long title scare you off, the newest installment by English lads Bring Me the Horizon has left jaws dropping to the ground. Even though this is a review I cannot put into words how amazing this album is, other to say it’s a stroke of pour Hardcore/Metal genius. With a new line-up including Australia’s own Jona Weinhofen (EX I Killed the Prom Queen) there’s a definite Jona input into this masterpiece. On the first listen it became strange to me that a band, who has respectively been to together for many years has wrote a ‘mature’, and did I mention genius piece of work, that could be easily mistaken for a band spanning a 40 year career.

The opening track just seals you in, “Crucify Me” is in a way a working continuation of the last track of their second album Suicide Season, the naming track “Suicide Season”. But its not a direct continuation, it feels like a evolution of pieces, the first time I heard this it was a big ‘Fuck off” due to the massive overwhelming magic that hit me, this has not happen to me in a long time and it put me off. (in a good way)

With many special guests helping the lads on the record and my favorite is a talented musician “Lights”. She brings a sense of Epic-ness into the tracks that she performs on, even though the tracks are epic pieces of work, her voice as best described as ‘haunting’, sending shivers down your spine, but strangely feeling you don’t want to stop.

With tracks like “It Never Ends” and “Fuck” have the traditional BMTH breakdowns and riffs, that’s the continuation from Suicide Seasons, but with that evolution that I keep talking about. BMTH has mixed things up with including ‘choir’ like voices in breakdowns and through the chorus on most songs, especially evident in “It Never End” where the breakdown is happening and suddenly stops and has a ‘Fucking Creepy’ haunting sound just for a split second, then the massive breakdown continued.

As wanting to keep this first post short and sweet, I could easily write another 10 paragraphs on each and every song, but I’m going to get the know the songs a bit better and then describe, analyse and share the love of every genius track that BMTH has produced on “There Is A Hell Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven Lets Keep It A Secret”.

If you’re current, past or a fan of this genre of music I advise strongly to buy, you will not be disappointed!
